Sex Wars III is the new play by up and coming playwright Alan Francois, a dissection of modern relationships that pulls no punches. The play begins with Director Harry giving out copies of his new script to his friends, Tom, Jane and Richard, putting on a pornographic DVD to get them in the mood for reading it aloud. Reactions to details onscreen and in the script itself are the catalyst for the black comedy and drama that follows as gradually the play explores universal anxieties that lurk beneath the sheets: Tom reveals his concern over his size and his girlfriend's sexual history, Jane herself shows she's just as vulnerable as Tom over the same thing, Richard has been taking certain elements of pornography far too seriously, while Harry quietly observes, testing the waters before he can let his friends know what he really would like to do with them! As more undesirable truths surface the comedy becomes blacker and the tension mounts, as ultimately vanity and narcissism reveal themselves to be both the driving and destructive force within all relationships.
